There is nothing more secure feeling than a roof over your head or your doors locked at night. Though, when you think about it, how safe are we really from somebody who threatens us? There is nothing more terrifying than the thought of a stranger entering your home. It was just like something out of a horror movie when a family picked up and moved after being threatened by an anonymous person who referred to them self as ‘The Watcher.’
A family with three young kids from Westfield, New Jersey were receiving frightening letters from ‘The Watcher’, regarding the new house they had moved into. The family has filed suit against the previous owners of the home that they purchased for over a million, claiming they “knowingly and willfully failed to disclose” the homes passed. It has been targeted by ‘The Watcher’ a person with a “mentally disturbed fixation and claim to possession and/or ownership of the home.”
“The first of the letters arrived on June 5, 2014, less than a week after the family moved into the house, according to Courthouse News.
The letter informed the buyers their house “has been the subject of my family for decades,” and that the writer had been “put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.”
“Why are you here? I will find out,” the letter read. “I asked the [previous owners] to bring me young blood … once I know their names, I will call to them and draw them too [sic] me.”
Additional letters, sent in following months, grew more threatening and ominous.
“I am pleased to know your names now and the name of the young blood you have brought to me,” one allegedly said. “Who has the bedrooms facing the street? I’ll know as soon as you move in … it will help me to know who is in which bedroom, then I can plan better.”
One letter asked, “Have they found out what’s in the walls yet?””
How do you guys feel about this? I know I wouldn’t stay there for even one more night. I’ve also seen a lot of horror movies soo I know I wouldn’t be alone in the house, showering, forgetting to lock the doors, investigating any strange noises, or running up the stairs and tripping any time soon.
