Review: DEADLY FAMOUS (2016)

In a world of beautiful actors and actresses there has to be some not so lucky actors, down on their luck and with a slight anger issue. Some rose to fame with a single movie, others it took many movies. Then you have Alan the angriest man alive who had the one show he did and could never get back to it. When things don’t go his way, bad things happen. Bloody bad things.

Deadly-Famous-3-1DEADLY FAMOUS is one of the new horror movies on DVD that caught my attention. The pitfalls of Hollywood creates an American Psycho in this film, out this month from Indican Pictures. Jackie Moore joins Oscar Nominee Eric Roberts in Jim Lane & Eric Troop’s sexy and frightening hand grenade of spine-chilling suspense and intrigue. Hiding under a mask of collected sanity, Alan is an aging actor with a serious serial killing hobby. His dark, reclusive world is blown open when a young, bubbly blonde moves in as a roommate. Her presence soon begins to further shake Alan’s already twisted psyche.

deadly_famous_2 This movie was a great example when people go crazy for all the right reasons! Not doing something you are good at because people think you are bad at it. Imagine someone thinking in their mind that THEY are the ones who are amazing and the greatest thing ever. And when you show up as an actor YOU are the one who should be honored and you know nothing. I usually don’t know anything so I am not too far off.

Deadly-Famous2-1 DEADLY FAMOUS gets the name for obvious reasons, but the actions Alan takes just makes him an amazing psycho! The opener alone caught me by surprise yet I figured something bad would happen, but damn what a head stomper. The blood and gore is pretty top notch here and it got my little devilish heart glow will bloody joy! And the thrills I got from Alan actually gave me goosebumps. He is freaky for the simple fact, one moment he is good to go then BAM! Trapping chicks in the bathrooms! And please please don’t make statements about his failed career. The settings are simple and vague, things from house rooms to outside. We see through the lenses set up in the house and also the “actual camera man” filming the movie.

I recommend this movie if you don’t mind minimal slow plot points, this mostly builds up tension and sets the crazy parts to give them a great follow through, this dude is really nuts. I would say this is a midweek kind of movie, something you get off work and check out. Maybe a solo movie or maybe a small amount of friends. Grab some snacks and a beer and get ready to become DEADLY FAMOUS!
